Interview with Kanella Ciraco: Master of the Dutch Pour and More!

Posted by Adryanna Sutherland on

Kanella Ciraco (@kanella.ciraco.art) is our very first influencer partner. We started working together at the very beginning, in 2019. We’ve always been mesmerized by her art and we have huge respect for her as a business person.

We hope you enjoy this interview with Kanella. She is a true Master in her field!

What got you into Fluid Art?
My sister-in-law introduced me to fluid art back in 2018. The rest is history!

What is your favorite piece of Art, and why?
It’s so hard to decide on a favorite! I’ve made over 600 pieces! Anything with blue will always be a favorite of mine.

What do you enjoy most about the process?
My favorite part is when I get to paint! You never know what the outcome will be and it’s always so exciting!

What is your least favorite part of the process?
Packing and shipping paintings. It’s the most time consuming part of my job, BUT I’m also very grateful for it!

What art do you have in your own home?
I currently have a piece of my own art hanging in my home. It’s a white base with light blues… of course! My daughter and son also have a piece in their rooms with their favourite colors.

Have you ever sold a piece of art that you wish you hadn’t?
Oh that’s a tough one! I don’t think I regret selling any of my pieces. I’m always happy to see my artwork going to its new home. It means someone gets to enjoy it as much as I do!

Have your children expressed an interest in art?
My son Lucas did at one point. He even made his own painting and blew it out himself. As for Sofia, not so much. Maybe one day!

What advice would you give new or up-and-coming artists?
Give it everything you have! Don’t be scared to venture out and try new things. Everyone fails at first, even me! Practice makes perfect, but always remember to just have fun!!

  • This is a great addition to the website. Kanella brought me here first and I can’t wait to hear from other artists! I love this interview. I am and will continue to “give it all I have”! I love painting and I’m so grateful to have found this; I can’t wait to be able to wrap and pack my first sale! Right now, editing for me is the hard part; I’d rather be painting!. Thanks Kanella for all your inspiration and guidance<3

  • KUDOS to Lolivefe for choosing Kanella for your first interview. I look forward to future interviews.
I strongly advise anyone who is able to take one of her “in home” classes to do so. Wonderful teacher with patience, guidance, and a true love of creation and wonderment. Very encouraging and always welcoming.
